The Enchanted Dreamer

He was turning
And you could see him panting heavily,
He had a lot on his mind,
He was mentally troubled.
The brevity of life seemed to have dawned on him just now.
His heart was hovering,
He got in,
With a foot and the other out
The tension seemed to ease
How was that?
You could see a sense of relief as he closed his eyes
He was obviously peaceful at last.
The calmness of his soul was evident,
His heart was no longer in torments,
Unconsciously, he leaned forward, backward and sideways,
In his subconscious was a peace he wished would reign forever,
He was oblivious of his surrounding.
He was in a land where he felt at ease,
There was no trouble in there,
The land was empty,
He walked and walked,
Out of eagerness,
He longed to see the end.
He came across what seemed to be a light at the end of the tunnel,
He aimed at reaching it,
He finally got to his destination,
He was tapped,
And was asked to alight the  bus,
He looked around dazed and confused, it had all been a dream.

The inspiration for this particular piece is a young man I saw on a bus on my way to work.
